Who We Are

Bridging the gap between expanding cities and food security.

Fresh Yard Initiative is a non-profit organization powered by S4P Group and Home Harvest. By combining expertise in social and behaviour change, youth engagement, urban agriculture, nutrition, and climate action, we empower households to grow healthy food in the available spaces, empower children with practical skills and build resilient urban communities.

Our work cultivates healthier families, equips children with practical life skills, creates greener cities, strengthens communities, and builds resilient households that can grow, learn, and thrive together.

What We Do

We make it easy to grow fresh food in available spaces, supporting you from first visit to harvest.

Reaching homes, schools, communities, children

We Build Vegetable Gardens

  • We transform small spaces into beautiful vegetable gardens at homes, schools and communities.

We Promote Healthy Eating

  • Growing vegetables yourself makes healthy eating exciting.
  • Families enjoy fresh, nutritious meals.
  • Children improve their dietary practices.

We Help Children Learn by Doing

  • Children don't just read about germination, they see, feel, touch it.
  • They learn proper nutrition, responsibility and climate action through hands-on gardening.
  • Agro-tourism for the children : learn where food comes from.

We Bring Families Together

  • Creating moments for families to laugh, learn and work together.
  • Grow traditions, share recipes, preparing meals together and passing on Uganda's rich food culture from one generation to the next.
